Senator John McCain Congratulates Arizona’s Olympic Athletes

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) released the following statement today congratulating Arizona’s Olympic athletes:

“Congratulations to all of the Americans who reached the pinnacle of athletic excellence by competing in the 2016 Olympic Games. We are especially proud of the extraordinary athletes living or training in Arizona for their determination and commitment, which continues to inspire our nation. From the most decorated Olympic athlete in history, Michael Phelps, who trains and will soon coach at ASU, to Sam Dorman from Tempe, who took home the silver in synchronized diving, to Helen Maroulis who trains in Tempe and claimed the first-ever gold medal for USA in women’s wrestling, to Alex Naddour from Gilbert, the first American male in 32 years to medal in the pommel horse – each and every athlete representing our great state and nation has made us proud. I look forward to seeing the United States cap off what has been an extraordinary Olympics with even more success in the final days of competition to come.”
